Government announces date of next year's Budget
BUDGET DAY 2011 will be on wednesday March 23, the government has revealed.
During the Labour years there was little more than a few weeks notice of the Budget making this one of the earliest announcements on record.
The Budget will follow the Spending Review last month and the emergency Budget statment made by chancellor George Osborne shortly after coming into power.
The date was announced by Sir George Young, the government’s business manager, in a statement to the House of Commons.
