Mazars picks up Chadwick, a Manchester and Liverpool-based firm
Mazars intends to merge with Chadwick LLP, a regional practice with offices
in Manchester and Liverpool. The announcement by Mazars’ Manchester office will
see the firm boost its presence in the region significantly, with staff
headcount rising to approximately 100.
The move will allow Mazars, listed as the twelfth in the Accountancy
Age Top 50 list, to “provide an
enhanced range of services” to their clients said senior partner Tim Hudson,
“and create new opportunities for [the firms’] highly talented teams”.
Chadwick, for three years the only practice from the North of England to be
shortlisted for the medium-sized firm of the year prize at the Accountancy Age
Awards, is an adviser to owner-managed businesses and high net worth
individuals.
The new firm, to be branded Mazars, will have a projected annual turnover of
£7m. Chadwick managing partner Pam Dawes said: “Initially many clients will
notice no difference other than a name change, but over time they will benefit
from the increased range of specialist services and international reach that we
will be able to provide.”
Chadwick sits at 84th in Accountancy Age’s league table, with £4m in
revenues for year ending February 2009.
Dawes and four other Chadwick partners: Mike Hodges (tax); Kevin Simmons
(transaction support and corporate finance services); Richard Burrows and Dave
Nicholls (both Liverpool entrepreneurial services) – will form part of the
expanded leadership team.
