KPMG arranges printers pre-pack
Mark Firmin, Brian Green and Howard Smith sell division of printing business GA Pindar & Son on appointment
KPMG ADMINISTRATORS have been called to printing business G A Pindar & Son.
Mark Firmin, Brian Green and Howard Smith sold the web division of the business on appointment.
The web arm is based in Scarborough and has been sold to a subsidiary of former rival York Mailing. All 255 employees in that division are due to transfer as part of the deal.
Firmin, restructuring partner at KPMG, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to sell the largest part of the group, shortly after appointment.
“In the respect of the other businesses, we are actively seeking buyers and are continuing to speak to a number of interested parties.”
There are about 177 staff that continue to work for at G A Pindar & Son based in Preston, Aylesbury, York and Scarborough.
The group also owns a worldwide print shop franchisor, AlphaGraphics, and software provider Pindar both based in the US.
Those businesses are not in any form of insolvency process and continue to trade. The KPMG administrators are seeking to sell the investment held by the UK group, Firmin said.
