Former PwC audit manager excluded from ICAEW over £4k of false expense claims
A FORMER PwC MANAGER who falsely claimed nearly £4,000 in expenses has been excluded from membership of the ICAEW.
The institute’s disciplinary committee excluded and ordered costs against Lee Douglass, of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, for dishonestly claiming £3,858 in expenses from PwC between July 2007 and September 2008.
Douglass made 15 claims during that period, mostly of duplicate air fare and hotel reservation costs.
He questioned three of the 15 expenses claims flagged up by the committee, but without any evidence to aid his defence it said that in the balance of probability he had also falsely claimed expenses in those instances as well.
PwC dismissed him in November 2008 after its own disciplinary proceedings.
