EX-CENTRICA divisional finance director Nevin Truesdale has taken a group finance director role at the largest commercial British horseracing company The Jockey Club.
Truesdale (pictured) joins from FTSE 100 business Centrica where he was finance director of its largest business unit of British Gas, Residential Energy division, which has a turnover of about £9bn.
He began his career at Ernst and Young, where he spent nearly six years. He joined Centrica in May 2001 as senior business assurance executive for British Gas home and road services. He later took on the finance manager role at the AA, which was previously part of Centrica. Since then he has worked at Centrica Truesdale in a variety of roles, including FD of various divisions such as communities & new energy, new markets and latterly residential energy.
“I’m very sorry to be leaving my role at British Gas, but the opportunity to be part of a very strong team, in a sector I have a huge interest in, was an easy one to accept,” said Truesdale.
“I also look forward to leading and developing the teams for which I will have responsibility and to help to sustain a strong business acting for the long-term good of British racing.”
He succeeds Andrew Crean who joins the Football Association as chief financial officer.
