SAFFERY CHAMPNESS has reshuffled the deck at the top of its business, with the appointment of new partner heads.
The top 20 firm, with nine offices across England and Scotland , has named Mike De Leto as head of the firm’s business advisory group, taking over form Nick Kelsey. Di Leto has served with the firm for 15 years, becoming a partner in 2001. He will head the department’s 75-strong team.
Matthew Burton will head up the private wealth & estates group, taking on the role from James Sykes. He is a qualified accountant, chartered tax adviser and chartered surveyor.
Burton’s move leaves space for Liz Brierley to head up the firm’s national landed estates practice group. She specialises in advising landowners and rural and agricultural businesses, and is a committee member and former chair of the Dorset Committee of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Kelsey and Sykes return to fee-earning roles within the firm.
“These roles are crucially important to the on-going success and strength of our firm and in Matthew, Mike and Liz, we are fortunate to have some of the best people available to fill them,” said managing partner Jonathan Fox (pictured).
“James and Nick have done some fantastic work over the years and I would also like to thank them for this. We can now look forward to their continued contribution to the growth of Saffery Champness.”
