Former HMRC tax official and Smith & Williamson partner Andrew McKenna to head firm's Manchester office
ANDREW MCKENNA, a partner at Smith & Williamson and a tax investigations expert, has been appointed head of the company’s Manchester office.
McKenna is currently part of the company’s tax investigation team, and has more than 20 years of experience in tax investigations. Prior to his position at Smith & Williamson, he spent 15 years as a senior tax official at HMRC, undertaking serious tax fraud and avoidance enquiries. He specialises in HMRC’s information powers, particularly bank information notices and information exchange.
Joss Dalrymple, national head of private client tax services, said of the appointment: “Our Manchester office has been going from strength to strength, and we are delighted that Andrew will be leading the team.”
McKenna commented: ‘I am excited to be leading Smith & Williamson’s Manchester office during this time of growth and expansion; we already have a strong tax investigations offering and we plan to expand our private client tax services to an equal level’.
