MHA MACINTYRE HUDSON partner Mick Sanders has been appointed trustee in bankruptcy for former England international goalkeeper David James.
James, who amassed over 50 caps for England and in excess of 800 senior appearances at clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and West Ham, was declared bankrupt in the Hertford County Court on 9 May 2014.
Sanders, who joined MHA MacIntyre Hudson as a senior partner and national head of its restructuring and recovery division in 2008, was appointed trustee in bankruptcy on 24 June 2014.
The largest creditor in the estate is HM Revenue and Customs. Assets in the bankruptcy estate include an extensive collection of football memorabilia which is hoped will produce significant sums for creditors, the firm said.
“In this regard the London office of Hilco Global have been instructed to act on behalf of Mick Sanders in his capacity as Trustee of the Bankruptcy. Hilco will be selling over 150 football shirts, many of them signed together with balls and shorts. Through an extensive marketing programme we hope to attract significant interest from global football fans with the timing ideal for the Christmas season,” MacIntyre Hudson said.
