Bio
Helen Brand became chief executive of ACCA in September 2008.
She joined ACCA in 1996 and spent six years as head of corporate development. In 2002, she became chief operating officer before taking up the position of managing director of operations in 2004. After three years, she became managing director of strategy and development – a position she held until her appointment as CEO.
Brand studied politics at the University of Exeter, graduating in 1987.
She is a London Advisory Board member of the Women’s Executive Network and sits on the board of the International Integrated Reporting Council.
Brand was awarded an OBE in June 2011 in recognition of her services to accountancy.

Brand was named in 24th position on the Accountancy Age Financial Power List 2018:
ACCA’s global membership surpassed the 200,000 milestone at the end of last year, and Brand will be looking to continue this success in 2018. As well as developing the professional body, Brand will be closely monitor the progress of Brexit negotiations, ensuring that the government takes the industry in account when agreeing trade policy and terms for a future partnership with the EU.
