CABA appoints new president to focus on wellness

The charity will continue efforts on its long-term benevolence strategy under Mamujee's leadership.

Kaaeed MamujeeCABA has appointed Kaaeed Mamujee as the organisation’s president, with a focus on spearheading the charity’s newly-launched five-year benevolence strategy.

Throughout the past year, CABA has launched multiple wellness initiatives and informative courses, ranging from developing self-awareness to understanding the importance of sleep.

Building on their success, the benevolence strategy will be a joint effort between Mamujee and CABA’s Board, with an aim of driving research and building up the charity’s resources on employee wellness.

Speaking on his appointment, Mamujee said: “I will focus on raising awareness of the support that’s available and highlighting the importance that an employer plays in employee mental health through their wellbeing strategies, mental health initiatives and their ability to provide the best care and support in the workplace.

“I also want to continue to work with our members of all ages and help them to find a better solution to the unsolvable issue of juggling work and home life.”

CABA operates as a charity, supporting past and present ICAEW members and their families with free services, including career development, emotional support and legal advice. In 2018, it supported over 25,000 individuals, both abroad and in the UK.

Kath Haines, chief executive at CABA, said: “The launch of CABA’s five-year plan comes at a time of significant change for the industry, regulatory review, globalisation, digitalisation, Brexit and more.

“To truly reflect this and the support needed by our members CABA needs to be brave, take risks and try new things. I believe Kaaeed will be an excellent figurehead to lead us through this exciting time in our development.”

Taking over for Sue Field, Mamujee, a former CABA Trustee, brings 27 years of experience as a chartered accountant into this three-year presidency role.
