PKF Francis Clark named among top 20 UK’s best workplaces

Firm secures highest ranking of any accountancy business in this year’s list

PKF Francis Clark has been ranked among the UK’s top 20 Best Large Workplaces for the first time, rising four places to claim 20th position in the annual list compiled by Great Place to Work.

The firm is the highest-placed accountancy employer on the list and one of only three South West-based companies to break into the top 20 across all size categories.

Now in its 25th year, the Great Place to Work ranking is based on anonymous surveys of employees across hundreds of UK organisations, evaluating factors including trust in leadership, opportunities for professional development, and workplace culture.

This marks the third consecutive year that PKF Francis Clark has been included in the rankings, with year-on-year improvements reflecting the firm’s sustained focus on employee experience.

“Being certified as a Great Place to Work is fantastic recognition for any employer,” said Amy Taylor, Chief People Officer. “Since first achieving this three years ago, we haven’t stopped looking for ways to make our employee experience even better. Listening to our colleagues and acting on their feedback is key to that.”

In the latest staff survey, 87% of PKF Francis Clark employees said the firm is a great place to work—well above the UK average of 54%. Additionally, 91% reported having access to training and development opportunities, outperforming the national benchmark of 78% for large organisations.

Notable initiatives supporting staff engagement include in-house leadership programmes, designated volunteering days, and structured wellbeing programmes covering mental, physical and financial health.

The firm has also secured positions on Great Place to Work’s specialist lists, including Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services, Best Workplaces for Women, Best Workplaces for Wellbeing and Best Workplaces for Development.

Further recognition has come from government-backed initiatives. PKF Francis Clark has featured on the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list for the past two years, underscoring its commitment to talent development across all levels of the business.

The latest award was celebrated at a London ceremony hosted by comedian Richard Ayoade, with 10 employees from offices across the South West nominated by their peers to attend.
