At a time when the big four are downsizing all over the UK and Ireland,
Scottish mid-tier firm Johnston Carmichael will take over smaller rival Duncan
Young & Co.
Duncan Young & Co’s three partners – Morris Duncan, Alan Young and Ian
Roy – will join Johnston Carmichael, as will 20 members of staff, the Scotsman
reported.
Roy will transfer to Johnston Carmichael’s Perth office, while Ishrat Sharif,
Duncan Young & Co’s tax director, will join the firm’s tax office in
Edinburgh.
The merged entity says it is ‘open minded’ on more acquisitions.
