China’s vice-minister of finance has become the ICAEW’s first honorary member
from outside the UK.
Dr Wang Jun joins the Prince of Wales and Sir Adrian Cadbury as the
institute’s only honorary members, since the honour was created in 2006
Jun has been ‘instrumental in leading reform’ of the profession in China,
said ICAEW president Martin Hagen.
‘The policies he has pursued have introduced transparency and accountability
to China’s economy as the country emerges as a world economic power.’
‘I am honoured to be invited to become a member of the ICAEW. I’d like to
extend my gratitude to my team and the accountancy profession in China, to whom
this honour actually belongs,’ said Jun.
