Chancellor George Osborne aims to balance the structural deficit within four
years.
In his first budget speech Osborne said he aims to bring the structural
deficit into balance by “2014-2015”.
He said he aims to bring in a financial policy which responds to
international events, “to give us credibility to respond to external shocks”.
