Marks & Spencer CFO role goes to ex-WHSmith FD

Former WHSmith group FD Alan Stewart is joining
Marks &
Spencer
as its chief finance officer.

Stewart will join M&S’ board by the end of October 2010, having served as
CFO of aircraft leasing company AWAS.

He was group FD at WHSmith between 2005 and 2008, having spent seven years at
Thomas Cook.

“Alan has an impressive track record and will be joining us with extensive
experience of retail and other highly competitive industries including travel
and banking. We look forward to welcoming him to the M&S team,” said M&
S chief executive Marc Bolland.

Stewart takes over from Ian Dyson, who left the company to take up the chief
executive role at Punch Taverns.

M&S’ share price is trading down 0.86% (3.1p) this morning.
