The taxman is ramping up efforts to foil tax evasion by sending out hundreds
of letters to those suspected of salting away money overseas.
Advisers have said clients have been in contact after HM Revenue &
Customs probed those believed to hold HSBC accounts in Switzerland.
HM Revenue & Customs said that the letters were “part of our drive
against offshore tax evasion,”
