ADMINISTRATORS from BDO have been called to menswear retailer just after Christmas.
James Stephen and David Hill, partners at BDO, were appointed joint administrators to A & J Menswear which trades as D2 Jeans.
The duo closed 19 stores shortly after their appointment making about 200 people redundant.
Stephen said: “It is unfortunate that the economic climate and extremely difficult trading conditions have significantly affected the retail sector.
“However, we are hopeful of securing a sale of all or part of the Company, and will continue to trade the business whilst this is explored.”
A & J Menswear trades across about 47 stores in the UK.
