KEVIN ELLIS has been named PwC’s new UK managing partner following a boardroom reshuffle.
He succeeds Richard Collier-Keywood who steps down to take an international role at the firm as vice chairman of PwC’s global firm responsible for the coordination of the firm’s international strategy.
Ellis (pictured) joined the firm in 1984 and became partner in 1996. Before he joined the executive board in 2008 he headed up the advisory practice which includes business advisory services.
PwC chairman and senior partner Ian Powell said: “I am very pleased to announce that Kevin Ellis, who has successfully led our advisory business for the past four years, will take over from Richard Collier-Keywood as UK managing partner.
“Richard has made a huge contribution to the UK firm and I wish him well in his new international role.”
Ellis was instrumental in coordinating a multi-disciplinary team in PwC to develop the firm’s response in the pension’s arena. He also acted as a consultant on a number of cases in this field including Royal Mail and P&O.
Other changes include the creation of specific board roles for deals and consulting which will be handed to John Dwyer, global deals leader and head of private equity, and Ashley Unwin, managing partner for the UK’s consulting practice.
As previously announced Margaret Cole joins the firm in September and takes over as general counsel for the executive board on 31 December. Cole was most recently at the Financial Services Authority as managing director of enforcement and financial crime.
