Ex-KPMG senior partner to head Grant Thornton assurance
Andrew Vials leaves KPMG technical reporting role to lead GT’s National Assurance Services
GRANT THORNTON has appointed former KPMG senior partner Andrew Vials to head up its National Assurance Services (NAS).
Vials joins GT after ten years as head of the Big Four firm’s financial reporting technical team. He previously served as audit partner at KPMG before leading its IFRS engagement work. Vials also served as a member of the IASB’s IFRS Interpretations Committee for six years.
Commenting on his appointment, Vials said he was delighted to join GT “at a time when significant changes in reporting and regulation bring both many opportunities and challenges”.
Last month, GT’s UK insurance chairman Craig Scarr left the firm after just four months in the role.
