EAST ANGLIAN firm Aston Shaw has expanded, with a deal to take on the business of local competitor Roger Hopkins.
Hopkins’ business was established in 1980, and is well-regarded – with him picking Aston Shaw to take on his 300+ client portfolio on his retirement.
The office and six Roger Hopkins staff will be retained by Aston Shaw.
“Roger Hopkins Chartered Accountants is a highly regarded and well respected firm in the city. There was a huge amount of competition to secure the deal and we are thrilled that Roger selected Aston Shaw to carry on building the firm he created,” said Mark Noakes, director, Aston Shaw.
“We want to ensure a sense of continuity for clients and so Roger will continue to work alongside us on a consultancy basis.”
Hopkins said that he prioritised clients and staff in choosing a deal partner. “I am impressed with the approach Aston Shaw take in regards to growth, client care and level of service – something that is unique for a practice of its size,” said Hopkins. “I wanted to have a guarantee that both my staff and clients would receive the same level of care and attention that we have maintained over the years, and I look forward to offering my help throughout the transition.”
Aston Shaw merged with with Morgan Woods in August 2014, and has set out a growth path, including the recruitment of 17 apprentices last year and a number of senior appointments.
