RSM has appointed 288 new trainees to bring the firm’s total headcount to 3,600 individuals in the UK.
The trainees will be based across 30 RSM offices in the UK within tax, audit, corporate finance, risk, restructuring advisory, financial reporting and IT teams.
The firm has taken on 50 of the trainees as school leavers, and all trainees will begin work towards accountancy qualifications. They will also have the opportunity for overseas secondments and participation in the firm’s corporate and social responsibility programme.
David Gwilliam, chief operating officer at RSM, said: “I am delighted to welcome so many talented new recruits to RSM this year.
“Our future growth ambitions rely on attracting and developing new talent across all areas of our business. That so many people have chosen to begin their careers with us is, I hope, a reflection of the training support and the career opportunities that we can offer as a firm.”
Earlier this month, KPMG announced that its 2017 apprenticeship intake had jumped to 181 in 2017, and BDO announced that 201 new trainees had joined the firm, with an additional 83 due to join in November.
