Bio

Dodwell graduated with a Law degree from King’s College London in 1977, then immediately took up his place to do a Masters in Law at Cambridge.

After completing that in 1978, Dodwell took on the role of Partner at Arthur Anderson & Co, where he remained for 13 years. In 2002, he moved on to become Partner at Deloitte, where he is Head of Tax Policy. Dodwell has also been President at the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) since May 2016.

Dodwell leads the Tax Policy Group, which manages tax knowledge, training, and government representations & consultations with the OECDE, HM Treasury, and HMRC. His clients are mainly UK and US headquartered companies.

Dodwell made 43rd on the Accountancy Age Financial Power List. Leading the tax policy group at Deloitte, Dodwell will be well placed to exert influence on the finer details of domestic tax policy through consultations with the Treasury and HMRC, as well as on the international stage through dialogue with the OECD.

It provides audit, tax, consulting, enterprise risk, and financial advisory services to more than 263,000 professionals around the world.

In 2017, the company earned a record $38.8 billion USD in revenue. In the UK, it boasts the largest number of FTSE 250 companies as clients.
