New recruit joins Champion Accountants

North West accountancy firm Champion Accountants has welcomed semi-senior accountant Monika Badauskaite to support its audit and accountancy clients.

Based in the firm’s Chester office, Badauskaite’s focus will be on supporting the group’s charity and SME portfolio, working with clients to achieve specific strategic objectives as she works towards her Chartered Accountant status.

Sue Harris, partner at Champion, said: “Monika displays all the tell-tale signs of a talented accountant, and brings with her an excellent understanding of multiple business industries, particularly the charity sector and the financial, accounting and regulatory nuances it faces.

Clemence Hoar Cummings appoints Non-Executive Director

Derek Smith has joined Romford-based practice Clemence Hoar Cummings as its newest Non-Executive Director and Chair of the board.

In these roles, Smith will provide strategic advice to the firm’s Directors and senior management team using his years of UK and international senior-level experience.

He has considerable experience in our industry, developing and growing practices, so we hope he plays an instrumental role in our ongoing success.”

Former trainees promoted to partners at Campbell Dallas

Four long-serving employees at accountancy firm Campbell Dallas have been promoted to partner level, effective 1 January, 2020.

Working out of the firm’s Edinburgh office, Kirsty Murray’s role of Tax Partner will allow her to use her extensive knowledge of corporate and business tax, and highlight her specialties in the technology, R&D and performing arts sectors. Murray originally joined the firm as a trainee in 2004.

James McBride, who joined as a trainee in 2003, becomes a Glasgow-based Audit Partner. In this position, he will focus on providing external audit and business advisory services to a wide range of clients across several sectors.

Also based in Glasgow, Jennifer Alexander takes on an Audit Partner role, using her expertise in charity and housing association sectors to offer business advice to several businesses. Alexander originally joined the firm as a CA trainee in 2001.

Another former CA trainee, Alan Brown, originally joined the firm in 2003 and has been promoted to Audit Partner, and will continue to play a key role in running the firm’s audit team across Scotland.
