Cooper Parry has strengthened its leadership team with four senior appointments from PwC as it continues to expand across audit, tax, assurance, and regional markets.
Nick Hatton joins as Partner and Head of Transaction Tax, based at the firm’s East Midlands Sky View hub with a national remit. With more than 25 years’ experience at PwC and EY, Hatton will focus on transaction tax for private equity clients. Previously trained as a chef, Hatton also chairs the School of Artisan Food, promoting education and sustainability.
“What drew me to CP was its ambition, trajectory, and culture. There’s a real opportunity here to build something different, something impactful, without the constraints of the Big Four,” he said.
Arif Ahmad takes on the role of Regional Market Leader for Yorkshire & North East and Audit Relationship Partner. Having spent 28 years at PwC, including leading offices in Leeds and the North of England, Ahmad will build CP’s presence across the region. He co-founded Stronger Together Leeds, a network promoting diversity and inclusion in professional services.
“CP felt different from the outset. There’s an energy here that aligns with my values of making a real difference. I’m excited to be joining the firm and building a team and client base across Yorkshire and the North East,” Ahmad commented.
Laura Bevan has been appointed Assurance Director. She spent 12 years at PwC, most recently leading sustainability services in Wales. Bevan brings expertise in ESG and assurance and will play a key role as CP continues to develop its purpose-led agenda.
“Joining CP felt like a natural next step. The firm’s commitment to being the UK’s largest B Corp accountancy practice isn’t just a label, it’s a mindset,” she said.
These hires follow Adam Waller’s appointment from PwC as Regional Market Leader for the North West and Head of Tax Consulting. Cooper Parry said these appointments underscore its strategic focus on the mid-market, offering tailored, agile services while attracting senior talent seeking alternatives to the Big Four.
CEO Ade Cheatham said:
“We’re building the next generation professional services firm. One that’s rooted in innovation, collaboration, and client impact. Welcoming leaders like Nick, Arif, Adam and Laura shows that CP is a credible and compelling alternative to the Big Four. Others are already following in their footsteps, drawn by our vision and values.”
