Northern Rock Asset Management FD David Jones steps down to concentrate on an ongoing FSA investigation
David Jones, the finance director at Northern Rock Asset Management (NRAM)
which contained most of the original bank’s toxic assets, is stepping down to
focus on an ongoing Financial Service Authority investigation.
Jones was appointed FD of Northern Rock in 2007, having been deputy for seven
years. He stepped back to a senior finance role in 2008 when the government
bailed out the bank and Anne Godbehere was recruited as CFO.
However, earlier this year, following a restructuring, which separated the
bank into two, Jones took up a CFO role at NRAM.
He is succeeded by Hugh Graham, head of treasury operations, on an interim
basis. Graham previously worked in the treasury division at Barclays Bank and
Zurich Financial Services.
Another CFO on the move is Sue Ball, who takes up the senior finance role at
Livebookings, the reservations company. Ball previously held CFO roles at
Premier Brands, the UK’s largest food producer; Burnden Leisure, the LSE-listed
name for Bolton Wanderers FC; and, most recently, European online gambling
company Unibet.
Other women moving up the corporate ladder include Rebecca Aldridge who is
promoted to director in the wealth strategies division at Cooper Parry.
Aldridge has been at the firm for seven years working in its pension
department. She will now provide high net worth individuals with planning
advice.
Former KPMG and Mazars tax specialists are taking up residence in
Throgmorton, an accountancy firm advising hedge fund and private
equity businesses. Raminder Chowdhary is appointed head of VAT at the firm and
Stephen Smith assumes the role of tax manager.
