Fear of being cursed keeps Romanian MPs from taxing witches
IN AN UNFORESEEN (that bits very important – ed.) move, Romanian senators have voted down a new law that would have forced fortune tellers and witches to pay tax on their activities.
Members of the ruling Democratic Liberal Party in Romania had drafted new rules that would require witches and fortune tellers to produce receipts and be held liable for any wrong predictions, reported the Telegraph.
However, the law failed to pass as politicians feared they would be cursed if they voted for the changes.
Not something that worries UK MPs when considering the finance bill. Sadly. Mind you don’t let the tax planners over know or we’ll be seeing Premier League footballers declaring themseles soothsays and magicians in a bid to avoid their dues. Anyone who’s seen Liverpool play recently will know there’s not a lot magic over there.
