AIM-listed metals business recruits former KPMG partner
FORMER KPMG PARTNER Clive Hyman has taken the group FD role at exploration business Wishbone Gold.
The AIM-listed company, which identifies and develops precious metal assets, has recruited Hyman after current FD Jonathan Harrison stepped down to become one of its non-executives.
Hyman was a founding partner of KMG’s transaction services team, leaving the firm in 2005 to set up his own consultancy business. He then served as interim CEO and CFO for designers Candy and Candy. Hyman has served as Wishbone’s group financial controller since April.
Prior to serving as Wishbone’s FD, Harrison held senior finance roles at Intercontinental Hotels Group, Boddington Group, County Hotels Group, Topnotch Health Clubs and Sirius Minerals.
Richard Poulden, executive chairman of Wishbone Gold, said: “I want to express my personal thanks to Jonathan for his wisdom and support for many years in many companies. I am particularly pleased that he has agreed to remain as a non-executive director. He and Clive have been working on this handover for several months and I have every confidence that Clive is a worthy successor.
“Clive’s extensive experience working with both quoted and unquoted growth companies across a broad range of sectors makes him a valuable addition to our team. Clive’s support will be important during this exciting time for Wishbone Gold, as we look to deliver on our strategy to acquire and prove up a portfolio of licences located in known areas of gold mineralisation and, in the process, generate substantial value for shareholders.”
It share price is unchanged in this morning’s trading, at 2.5p – giving the company a £4.6m market cap.
