Restructured team at BDO sees AIM auditor veteran join the ranks
BDO has restructured its leadership team recruiting AIM auditor Scott Knight as head of audit and assurance.
Previously Paul Eagland was head of audit and tax on the leadership team. However, Eagland will now take on additional responsibilities as head of professional services and tax, relinquishing his audit duties onto Knight (pictured).
Knight joined the firm in 1993. He previously headed up BDO’s natural resources sector offering, and was the lead auditor for FTSE 100 company, Randgold Resources, as well as a FTSE 250 mining company. He currently works with more than 30 AIM-listed exploration and production companies.
Knight and fellow leadership board member Jeff Jones, head of national advisory, will report directly to Eagland. In his new role Eagland is now responsible for the delivery of all of BDO’s business services.
BDO managing partner Simon Michaels said: “Our audit and assurance offering is stronger than ever following our merger. We’re starting to see some of the much-needed change in the audit market and intend to make the most of opportunities that emerge.
“Scott’s appointment allows us to do that, while Paul’s additional responsibility ensures our core business offering of audit, tax and advisory complement each other.”
The remaining members of the team includes Mark Sherfield, chief operating officer and Gervase Macgregor, head of international advisory, risk and quality.
