Grant Thornton appointments target growth in south west
Tim Lincoln will head up the region’s business, as John Golding takes control of public sector assurance in the area
GRANT THORNTON has appointed Tim Lincoln as head of its south west practice.
Lincoln replaces practice leader John Golding (pictured left), who will move to lead the regional public sector assurance practice. Allister Weir (pictured right), director in Grant Thornton’s south west tax team, has also been promoted to partner.
The appointments come as the firm targets growth in its south west business through investment in its Bristol office and Tewkesbury, Dorchester, Exeter and Truro regional hubs.
Grant Thornton UK said it is “well on its way” to reaching its £500m turnover target earlier than its original projection of 2015, after a 13% increase to £471m in the year to June 2013.
Lincoln (pictured centre) said the south west business is in a strong position, but the firm is investing in its team at all levels “to go even further”.
“My absolute focus is on extending Grant Thornton’s reach into the south west market place,” he said.
Lincoln has been partner at Grant Thornton for 12 years and previously headed up the firm’s Belfast office as part of the audit and assurance practice. He also serves as audit committee chairman and is a member of the firm’s national oversight committee.
Grant Thornton regional network head Robert Hannah said Lincoln has “an exceptional reputation in the market” and will continue to work with clients in his new leadership role.
