BDO relinquishes Benchmark audit after 15 years
ANIMAL WELFARE and nutrition business Benchmark has confirmed the appointment of KPMG as its auditor.
The Big Four firm replaces BDO, which held the post with the AIM-listed company for the past 15 years.
The appointment is effective immediately, and will apply in respect of the company’s half year results for the period ending 30 March 2016.
In a statement to market Benchmark said “the decision to review auditors was made in light of the company’s growth, with a view to implementing best corporate governance practice regarding auditor independence and the split of audit and non-audit work”.
Benchmark’s annual report for 2015 shows that the work was worth around £331,000 to BDO, including £62,000 for tax-related services and £82,000 for due diligence.
