Defra announces guidelines on reporting of environmental issues under EU Accounts Modernisation Directive
Environment Minister Elliot Morley announced new Defra (Department for
Environment Food and Rural Affairs) guidelines this week on how businesses can
meet the requirements of the new business review under the EU Accounts
Modernisation Directive.
Morley said: ‘All quoted and large private companies preparing the new
business review will need to report significant environmental issues. To help
companies make the most of these opportunities, we have produced a set of new
easy-to-use guidelines.
‘These can be used by all companies, not just those that are legally obliged
to prepare a business review,’ he said.
