Artificial intelligence is no longer a future consideration for business leaders in the accountancy sector. It is already reshaping markets and the competitive landscape across industries — and companies that implement it effectively are beginning to pull ahead.
A new leadership event, AI Summit UK, will bring together senior decision-makers, founders and directors for a one-day summit focused on the practical realities of implementing AI inside established UK businesses.
Taking place at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Savoy Place, London on 15th May 2026, the event is designed specifically for leadership teams in small and medium-sized businesses, including those in the accountancy sector, who recognise that AI is not simply a technology experiment, but a business transformation that requires clear priorities and disciplined execution.
Unlike technology expos or speculative “future of AI” discussions, AI Summit UK focuses on a straightforward question facing many accountancy firms today: how should a leadership team begin implementing AI properly inside their business?
The programme is built around practical implementation — helping leaders understand what should be prioritised first, what mistakes to avoid, and how to structure a realistic 90-day roadmap for adoption.
The summit will feature a keynote from Matt Clifford, entrepreneur and former advisor to two Prime Ministers on artificial intelligence, who will outline what the rapid development of AI means for established UK companies and why leadership teams need to act sooner rather than later.
Alongside Clifford, experienced practitioners working directly with UK businesses will cover the operational, commercial and governance aspects of AI adoption.
Sessions throughout the day will address:
·        What AI means for competitive strategy
·        Why many AI initiatives fail before they scale
·        Where leadership teams should begin
·        What a practical 90-day AI roadmap looks like
·        How organisations can align teams around implementation
With AI already affecting productivity, recruitment, customer experience and operational efficiency, many accountancy firms recognise the opportunity but remain uncertain about how to move forward in a structured way.
Jim Simpson, CEO of Ziptech and founder of AI Summit UK, said: “Business leaders don’t need more noise around AI. They need clarity. They need to understand what matters, what doesn’t, and what to do next.
“This summit is designed to cut through the confusion and provide leadership teams with a practical framework for taking the first step.”
A central theme of the event is leadership alignment. AI initiatives rarely succeed when they are treated purely as technology projects or delegated to a single department. For this reason, the organisers are encouraging leadership teams to attend together, enabling senior decision-makers to develop a shared understanding of the opportunities, risks and priorities involved in AI adoption.
AI Summit UK takes place on 15th May 2026 at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Savoy Place, London.
