Justinthyme - Huh! Absolutely nothing
Justin has been upbraided (again), this time for the “cheapness and insensitivity” in the item “War! What is it good for?”. Reader Adrian Burnett writes from Cornwall to say it was “… in unbelievably poor taste. There is no humour to be found in killing people.” (See Letters for the full indictment).
Presumably Mr Burnett arrived at this opinion after sitting stony-faced through M*A*S*H, Dad’s Army and Blackadder Goes Forth under the impression they were documentaries. But sometimes even a flippant fool like myself is shocked by man’s inhumanity to man, and I cry to the heavens above: “Oh God! Why do we need armies?” And a voice replies: “To keep your handies at the end of.”
