Taking Stock - Kids are cool about animals in the fridge.
Further proof that kids are generally cleverer than adults came from accountancy student Robert Young this week, who decided to test out the animal dexterity quiz which arrived from two of the Big Five firms a few weeks ago (25 November). The matter concerned a giraffe and elephant which both ended up in the fridge – apparently the test is used to discover whether employees should really belong to the profession. ‘I asked my 11-year old son the questions about animals and fridges, with the following result,’ said Young. ‘Me: How do you put a giraffe in a fridge? Son: You just put it in there (full marks I think) Me: How do you put an elephant in a fridge? Son: You just put it in (wrong answer according to PwC which says that the first step would be to take out the giraffe first. Me: Don’t you have to take the giraffe out first? Son: You didn’t say it was the same fridge!’ TS agrees that Master Young shows better logic than the recruiters using these questions.
