Taking Stock - Cheer up ... it's results time.
For students, directness, not politeness, is now the name of the game. Amid last Friday’s flurry of torn newsprint, students eagerly searched through early editions of The Times to discover if they had passed the latest exams. Without waiting for a full explanation one young lady, obviously suffering from over indulgence at a nearby bar, said: ‘Do leave us alone, we’re really not terribly interested in your recruitment malarkey.’ In fact her real phrasing was nothing like this and demonstrated a rare skill with expletives, and all directed at a poor recruitment consultant. Who could have known students had turned so much against the people who could provide their bread and butter. ?:
