Bourn named chairman.
Sir John Bourn, head of the National Audit Office, has been confirmed as chairman of the Review Board, the new monitoring body for the profession. The board will oversee the work of a restructured auditing Practices Board, a new Ethics and Standards Board and a new Investigation and Discipline Board. Sir John’s key function will be to ensure the public interest is represented. Lord Borrie, chairman-designate of The Foundation, legal parent of the Review Board, said: ‘He is uniquely well-qualified to ensure that the public interest in the regulation of the accountancy profession is fully satisfied.’
