Arthur Andersen may have ended its five-month hunt for a new chief executive officer this week after appointing Joseph Berardino into the role - but the firm is now faced with a hunt for a new UK managing partner.
Berardino will succeed interim managing partner Louis Salvatore, who maintained he was never in the running for the job on a permanent basis.
The new chief, who has also become managing partner-chief executive of Andersen Worldwide, has set up a five-person global executive team to support his aims for the firm.
He has promoted UK managing partner Philip Randall to join the team as managing partner of global operations.
The firm has begun the selection process for a replacement and insists all the heads of the service categories and industry groups are in contention.
AA told Accountancy Age last year the Worldwide CEO position would be filled by an existing member of staff, and stuck to its word with Berardino, former managing partner for the assurance and business advisory practice in North America.
Berardino said: ‘This is a great time to lead Arthur Andersen and I look forward to working to continue to grow our firm.’
