ICAEW pushes enterprise in Wales
The ICAEW will be gathering its Welsh members together tonight to drive forward with this year's institute theme of 'enterprise'.
Of the institute’s 120,000 members some 3,000 are based in Wales and with the majority of Welsh businesses in the small-and medium-sized sector, this year’s theme will be well served in Wales.
An enterprise dinner will take place at the illustrious Cardiff Castle tonight with the first minister of the Welsh Assembly, Rhodri Morgan, as guest of honour and key speaker.
The institute recently opened the Wales Business Centre just 500 yards away from the National Assembly in a bid to expand its presence. The centre is managed by David Lermon and Simon Evans, specialist government relations manager, who acts as the link between the Assembly and the ICAEW.
This was done on the back of research showing that 80% of businesses in Wales use the services of chartered accountants.
