Man Utd still the world's wealthiest

Football giant Manchester United has retained the top spot of the Deloitte & Touche Rich List for a fourth successive year.
The list, which identified the twenty highest earning football clubs in the world, also showed the impact new television deals are having on European clubs’ revenues, as predicted by AccountancyAge.com earlier this week.
Last year, the list showed the Red Devil’s turnover at Pounds 110.9m, putting it above German and European champions Bayern Munich.
Today’s figures, representing turnover for the 1999/00 season, found the Red Devils, the reigning English champions, had increased their turnover to Pounds 117m, with Spanish giants Real Madrid in second spot with Pounds 103.7m.
England’s Premier League relinquished its sole domination of the list, with both it and the Italian League Serie A, represented by seven teams.
Deloitte & Touche Sport tax partner, Richard Baldwin, said this was partially due to the fact Italian clubs can now negotiate their own television deals. In the UK, clubs share a general pool of revenue.
