Specialist tax experts continue to rake in the money, beating inflation by as much as 15% in some areas, with tax accountants getting the biggest increases.
Specialist tax experts continue to rake in the money, beating inflation by as much as 15% in some areas, with tax accountants getting the biggest increases.
The average tax accountant working in the City commands a salary of £48,000, plus an 18% annual bonus, according to recruitment specialist Hays.
Followed closely behind are international tax managers, who can expect a 15% increase in their wages in the form of a 20% bonus, on top of their substantial £70,000 salary.
Other tax and VAT specialist working in a top 40 firm can expect salaries of between £30,000 and £70,000 depending on their position and location.
Ed Colt, director of Hays Taxation Personnel said such position were ‘much sought-after’ adding that packages ‘had to be extremely attractive in order to tempt specialists away from their present jobs’.
