Deloittes faces Football League in High Court
Deloitte & Touche, administrator for ITV Digital, will face the Football League in the High Court today, as the row over unpaid broadcast rights fees escalates.
The Football League, which is demanding £178.5m from the failed pay-tv company, is applying for the release of documents on the administration which have been withheld on the grounds that they are ‘price sensitive’.
The new dispute comes after the Football League demanded a second administrator should be appointed because of a perceived conflict of interest at Deloittes – the firm has extensive involvement in the football business.
The Football League is also believed to have been in talks with Granada, one of the parents of ITV Digital, over the outstanding money. During the weekend Steve Morrison, chief executive of the media giant was spotted in deep conversations with David Buchler, the insolvency expert advising the League, at the Arsenal/Tottenham match.
