KPMG names global corporate finance chairman

He will take up his post on 1 October 2002, and will also join the firm’s Financial Advisory Services Steering Group.
Barrett, currently the vice-chairman of KPMG Corporate Finance, joined KPMG in London as a partner nine years ago from a background in investment banking and the law.
He will succeed David Beever, who continues as chairman of the UK Corporate Finance practice.
In 2001, KPMG Corporate Finance advised on 533 deals worth over $30bn worldwide.
Mike Wheeler, global head of Financial Advisory Services for KPMG said he was delighted with the appointment of Barrett.
He added: ‘I believe that we are well positioned to capitalise on the increasing number of opportunities we are seeing from both existing and new clients.’
