The move will produce one of the most powerful companies in the media industry but wrangling continues over who will get the board place.
Henry Staunton, FD at Granada, and a former partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been with the company since 1993 in senior positions. He is also deputy chairman of media ventures. Meanwhile Paul Murray, finance director at Carlton was formerly group FD at oil and gas giant LASMO.
Only two of the future positions have been agreed. Michael Green, currently chairman of Carlton will continue as chairman. Charles Allen, executive chairman at Granada and himself an accountant, will become chief executive.
Three non-executives from each company will join the board of the merged group. The companies refused to comment.
