    A new survey of the website's UK financial institutions ranks the Cooperative Bank as having the best online operations.

    At the bottom of the list was Allied Irish Bank, for the third year running, while the Coventry Building Society was ranked as having the worst building society website and also had the highest error count, according to tests carried out by online site checker www.sitemorse.com

    Just two financial institutions, Bradford & Bingley and Lloyds TSB, were found to have no errors on their websites.

    Overall the banking sector significantly reduced the number of errors on their sites, with the British Banking Association and the Bank of England making ‘great improvements’.

    The site with the fastest download time was City watchdog, the Financial Services Authority, with just seven institutions in total passed basic speed tests.
