Stress on the rise for young accountants
An emphatic majority of young accountants claim their job is becoming more stressful with more than a quarter regretting their career choice, new research shows.

The survey of over 120 accountants aged up to 35 also reinforced claims of a long-hours culture, according to the poll carried out for specialist recruitment consultancy Macildowie Associates.
One respondent said: ‘Being able to access your work files from home might seem a great bonus to start with, but what it actually means is that you never really leave the office.’
A significant 82% of those polled said they worked more than the ‘standard’ 40-hour week, while 30% worked more than 45 hours or more a week.
