ACCA claims the introduction of an ethics module is helping bring global accounting standards into line
The Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) claims introducing an ethics module
in its training programme is helping to lift professional standards in the
industry.
Richard Aitken-Davies, ACCA vice-president, told Derbyshire paper the
Evening Telegraph that accountants were often under pressure to publish
reports which exaggerated the success of a company.
Aitken-Davies said the introduction of the ethics module was helping shape
and improve professional standards in the industry, GAAPweb Finance and
Accounting News reports.
He said ACCA currently trained almost 300,000 students across 170 countries,
giving training which was not only applicable to local companies but also gave
an international perspective.
