Isle of Man and Australia sign tax cooperation agreements, including one for tax information exchange
The Isle of Man and Australia signed two tax cooperation agreements earlier
this week.
The agreements were signed by the Isle of Man’s treasury minister, Allan
Bell, and the Australian high commissioner to the United Kingdom, John Dauth,
according to
tax-news.com
Bell said the downturn in the global economy warranted an increased level of
transparency between countries ‘so as to increase the stability of financial
markets.’
The signing comes just days after the UK confirmed an agreement has been made
with Guernsey over the mutual exchange of tax information.
