ING set to poach HSBC executive for CFO role
Patrick Flynn to replace John Hele as ING CFO
The supervisory board of ING is poised to nominate Patrick Flynn as its new
chief financial officer.
Flynn is currently CFO of HSBC’s global insurance business.
The nomination of Flynn will take place INGs shareholder AGM on 27 April.
He previously served as CFO for HSBC’s banking and insurance operations in
South America, and has held a number of roles in auditing, treasury, and finance
and control.
Flynn began started his career at KPMG and is currently a member of the
Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Jan Hommen, chairman of ING’s supervisory board and CEO-designate said
Flynn’s experience in banking and insurance will play a valuable role for the
bank.
‘I am extremely pleased that such a highly qualified professional as
Patrick Flynn will join ING in the important position of CFO,’ he said.
Flynn will succeed John Hele who announced his resignation in October 2008.
Hele is expected to submit the annual accounts for the complete the annual
accounts for the 2008 financial year.
