GT tax team loses high-profile advisors
Resignations from two of Grant Thornton's tax team members
Mid-tier firm Grant Thornton will be without two of its most senior tax
advisors with confirmation Gary Ashford and Danny Beeton have resigned.
Beeton has been named as the head of transfer pricing economics for City law
firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, effective from 3 August.
He has been with Grant Thornton for the past ten years, and was most recently
as head of transfer pricing in the international tax team, as well as chairman
of the firm’s European and global transfer pricing committees.
Ashford, the firm’s tax investigations director, leaves to join rival
mid-tier firm RSM Bentley Jennison. It is unclear when the appointment will be
effective.
A source close to Grant Thornton said the departure was not unexpected.
In response to the resignations, a spokeswoman from Grant Thornton said: ‘It
just happens to be two people who have moved on from the tax team.’
She declined to comment further.
