Emerging nations could overtake developed countries in upgrading technology, says panel of experts
India, China and Africa could “leapfrog” the UK in online accounting software
adoption, according to a panel of experts at Softworld.
“On a global scale we will see many changes from India, China and Africa
which have leapfrogged over other countries,” said David Turner, group marketing
director at Coda.
“They could adopt cloud at a very rapid rate,” he added.
The emerging nations could miss out on the earlier technology and leap
directly into new types which they have done in the past said Turner.
His statements were in response to questions at a panel debate on cloud
computing the business benefits.
Turner was joined by Toby Davidson, director of professional services at
NetSuite, Tim Knight senior director at salesforce.com, Bryan Richter UK country
manager at Mamut, and the event was chaired by Richard Anning, head of the ICAEW
IT Faculty.
